Best PhD Thesis Prize
Best PhD Thesis Prize
The Best PhD Thesis prize is awarded annually and recognise outstanding and original contributions in the area of contemporary European Studies.
Eligibility and Prize:
The PhD thesis must:
- have been written in English;
- be authored by an Early-Career or PhD Researcher member of UACES (you can join when you nominate).
- have been passed in the 2024 calendar year (i.e. up to 31 December 2024). By 'passed' we mean the final revisions of your PhD have been approved. E.g., if your viva was in 2023, but you had major corrections which were approved in 2024, you are eligible for the 2025 prize.
To nominate yourself for the prize please:
- Email an electronic copy of the thesis (PDF) to admin@uaces.org;
- Complete the online nomination form.
The prize is 100 GBP and the winning scholar will be invited to attend our Annual Conference as our guest and to collect the prize.
The deadline for the 2025 prize is 1 December 2024.
If your PhD is being examined between the deadline and 31 December you can still be considered for the prize. If your thesis is due to be examined in this window and you wish to nominate yourself, you must complete the nomination form and contact admin@uaces.org prior to the deadline, stating that you wish to be considered for an extension.
We look forward to receiving your nominations.
